HEAD, Terry – We are saddened to announce the death of Terry Christopher Head, in his 50th year, on Sunday November 17, 2019. Terry was originally from Bowmanville and currently lived in London. Terry will be lovingly remembered by Ken Whatman, by his parents Sharon and Barry Head of Newcastle, and by the whole congregation of First-St. Andrew’s United Church, London. Terry began his journey in music at the piano at the age of 6. He was loved and respected wherever he played his song. While completing his undergraduate degree in Performance at Western, he was Organist at Ilderton Anglican Church. At Emmanuel College, University of Toronto, he attained his Masters Degree in Sacred Music and was also a graduate of the Glen Gould School, at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Terry’s calling to the ministry of music leadership and performance led him to Maplegrove United Church, St. Andrew’s United Church in Peterborough, Bridge Street United Church in Belleville, and for the last 3 years, First-St. Andrew’s United Church, London. Terry was an Executive member of the London Centre of Royal Canadian College of Organists, Music United Convenor for the Antler River Watershed Region, and Vice President and Chair of the Program Committee for the Ontario Guild of English Handbell Ringers. Terry was also a brilliant chef and a masterful seamster. Above all, Terry was a thoughtful, caring, authentic, faithful person, who was much loved and will be dearly missed. Visitation on Monday, November 25 from 7-9 pm at First-St. Andrew’s United Church, 350 Queens Ave. at Waterloo, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 26 at 11 am. Visitation will also precede the service from 10-11 am on Tuesday. A reception will follow the service. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery the following day, November 27. Proud mother of Shannon (Frank) Corby, Heather (Paul) Grace and Jeremy (Samantha Hammill). Loving Bamma of Hannah, Andrew & Avery. Cherished daughter of Gwen & the late Leslie Logie. Devoted sister of Jane Paterson, Patti Foote & remembered by many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her love of dogs, not only fostering 28 dogs, but also assisting with the intake and adoption of dogs. Her loving spirit allowed her to care for those people with special needs and she was also graced with the ability to compose, including 3 hymns. Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville, on Friday August 30th from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 pm with an Eastern Star service at 6:45 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 116 Church Street, Bowmanville on Saturday August 31st at 3 pm, with visitation from 2 – 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Mission & Service, United Church, any animal rescue charity or a charity of your choice. Dear daughter of Ted & Roxy Barnes. She will be sadly missed by her twin sister Stephanie Barnes and younger sister Deanna Barnes (Khris Boniface). Dear aunt of Jack & Samantha. Cherished niece of Grace Barnes. She was predeceased by her grandparents Keith & Alyce Yeo and Bertha & Art Barnes.
